Our People
Greg Duggan
Co-Founder & CEO
Greg leads Alcorn's strategy, team, and operations, drawing on more than 15 years of experience in finance and investing. Prior to co-founding Alcorn, Greg was a Partner at Alignvest Management Corporation, a Toronto-based investment holding company where he was responsible for the origination, structuring, execution, and management of investment opportunities across sectors that included manufacturing, healthcare services, specialized real estate (including acquisitions, operations, and developments), financial services, and telecommunications.
Prior to this role, Greg worked at Onex in their private equity group where he worked on several investments in the aerospace sector. Greg began his career in the investment banking division of Credit Suisse where he advised companies on M&A, debt, and equity transactions with a focus on the natural resource and diversified sectors.
Greg holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen's University, and is a CFA charterholder.
Shamez Virani
Co-Founder & Chair
Shamez plays an active role in shaping Alcorn's vision, strategy and organizational design —drawing on over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, investor, and company builder. Prior to co-founding Alcorn, Shamez spent over a decade helping to lead and grow CentreCourt from a start-up into one of Canada’s preeminent real estate developers with over $5 billion of development value across 19 high-rise towers. In 2020, Shamez received the most coveted award for young business leaders when he was named as one of Canada's “Top 40 Under 40.”
Shamez' prior work experience includes working in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs.
Shamez holds an MBA with a concentration in Real Estate from Columbia Business School and an Honors Business Administration (HBA) degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at The University of Western Ontario.
Anthony Creo
Head of Investments
Anthony leads Alcorn's investment sourcing and execution efforts and brings over 15 years of experience across finance and operations. Prior to joining Alcorn, he held a senior role at a large Canadian pension plan, focused on making equity investments between $50-350 million in market-leading companies across the United States, Canada, and Europe with a focus on business services.
Prior to this, Anthony was a Principal at Ironbridge Equity Partners and was responsible for creating partnerships with Canadian businesses in the manufacturing and industrials sector. During this time, Anthony also assumed the role of CFO of Kore Outdoor, the largest global manufacturer and distributor to the paintball industry, where he was responsible for the financial oversight of 11 locations across four countries, employing 250 FTEs. Anthony began his career at Oliver Wyman in New York as a management consultant, advising clients on growth and operational improvements.
He holds an Honours in Business Administration (with Distinction) from the Richard Ivey School of Business and is a CFA Charterholder.
Levi Hetrick
Head of Operations
Levi leads operational strategy and value creation across Alcorn's portfolio, drawing on more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning finance, operations, growth, and organizational transformation. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Growth at Krispy Kreme Canada, where he led strategic planning, capital deployment, and expansion across retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels.
Previously, Levi held senior operating roles at Krispy Kreme, Inc. in the US and was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, advising clients on operational transformation and procurement across multiple sectors. Earlier in his career, he served as a volunteer with the US Peace Corps in Suriname.
Levi holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Pennsylvania.
Andre Breton
Senior Associate
Andre plays a key role at Alcorn, working across transactions, strategic initiatives and portfolio company operations. Prior to joining Alcorn Partners, Andre was an investment professional at Novacap, a multi- billion dollar private equity firm, where he assisted with evaluating new platform and add-on investment opportunities in addition to monitoring portfolio companies across the Technology sector, but most notably, IT services, telecom, cybersecurity, healthtech, and datacenters.
Prior to this, Andre worked at Sampford Advisors where he completed several successful M&A transactions.
Andre graduated with an Honours Business Administration (HBA) degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at The University of Western Ontario.
Robyn Masters
Executive Assistant
Robyn is the Executive Assistant at Alcorn Partners, where she supports the senior team and helps drive day-to-day operations. She brings over 15 years of experience across professional sports, private equity, legal, and the nonprofit sector.
Prior to joining Alcorn, Robyn was Senior Manager of Partnerships & Events at the NHL Coaches' Association, where she led strategic partnerships and event execution. Earlier in her career, she held progressively senior roles with the Toronto Arrows RFC, gaining broad experience across executive support, ticketing, merchandise, sponsorship, and operations.
Robyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Huron University.

Nick Kuriya
President
Nick Kuriya recently joined Nightingale to lead its next phase of growth, bringing deep experience across strategy, operations, and organizational leadership. Over the past 15 years, he has held senior roles at top-tier organizations including Loblaws, Purpose Financial, and Oliver Wyman, where he built a track record of driving performance, scaling businesses, and leading high-performing teams.
Shark Marine
Carlo Salvarani
CEO
Carlo leads Shark, blending strategic focus with hands-on operational leadership to drive the company’s vision and execution. Prior to Shark, Carlo spent over a decade honing his leadership and operational expertise at world-class institutions including KKR, McKinsey, Harvard Business School, and the United States Marine Corps.
Jim Garrington
Founder
Jim started Shark Technologies over 40 years ago from his garage and has been its driving force ever since. Jim’s partnership with Alcorn reflects a commitment to thoughtful succession planning and a desire to see Shark thrive well beyond his tenure. Jim continues to be an active owner in the business with a hands on role on new product development.
Book Depot
Wilf Wikkerink
CEO
Wilf has led Book Depot Inc. as CEO since 2009, bringing strategic vision and operational excellence to drive the company's growth through acquisitions, technology investment, and strong relationship building. Prior to joining Book Depot Inc. in 2005, he spent nine years at Legacy Entertainment as Partner and Operations Director, where he co-built a successful budget music company sold to a UK-based company.
Bill Van Vliet
President
Bill has served as President of Book Depot for seven years, leading the senior leadership team and driving P&L performance through organizational clarity, disciplined execution, and accountability. Over his 28-year tenure, he advanced from Chief Information Officer in 1997 to his current role, leveraging his industry experience to bring structure, focus, and innovation that have fueled the company’s growth.
